CD-ROM drives will either use a tray or caddy method, depending upon the design of the drive.
The tray method is exactly the same as loading an audio CD:
To put a CD-ROM disk into the CD-ROM drive, first push the button on the CD-ROM drive. A small CD tray will slide out from the CD-ROM drive. Set the CD-ROM disk in the tray, label side up. Then push the button on the CD-ROM drive.
To remove the CD-ROM disk from the CD-ROM drive, press the button on the CD-ROM drive. When the CD tray slides out, remove the disk. Push the button on the CD-ROM drive.
The caddy method is exactly the same as the tray method except:
You first put your CD-ROM disk in a caddy before you slide it into the CD-ROM drive. The caddy is a special container for holding your CD-ROM disk while it is in the CD-ROM drive.
Of the two methods, the tray method is the most convenient. However, using a caddy for your CD-ROM disk will give it better protection, but can be more expensive. To get the best protection for your CDs using the caddy method, you should buy a new caddy for each new CD-ROM disk.
